The purpose of SEMCOSH is to provide a meeting place and social events for congenial members with a common interest in occupational safety and health.
SEMCOSH is an organization of workers and professionals united in an effort to improve health, safety and environmental conditions for workers in Southeast Michigan.
The work of the organization shall fall into two categories:
Provide educational, medical, technical and legal resources to labor unions and other groups of workers which are seeking to better the conditions of their workplace;
Help to unite workers, concerned professionals, and others in concerted action to bring about the greatest possible improvement in workplace conditions.
Bylaws Article 2:
SEMCOSH is dedicated to the right of all workers to a safe and healthful workplace. SEMCOSH will provide educational, technical, legal and medical resources, assistance and support to unions, workers and their families to improve the quality of their life and work.
